Holiday Cottages at Mawgan Porth, Cornwall
The cottages at The Park have all been refurbished during the winter and they now offer guests a wide variety of accommodation for parties of different sizes and ages. We believe in creating a relaxing environment for your holiday, offering all home comforts. All the natural fibre furnishings, flooring and textiles have been chosen to reflect this vision and to combine with our ethos of sustainability and environmental responsibility. Each cottage displays a wide variety of art and craftworks by local and national artists which help create an individual ambience.
Particular attention has been paid to offering plenty of storage space, a variety of lighting and lamps, flexible seating and comfortable, simple interiors, including natural flooring and attractive tiling. We have added contemporary fires into each sitting room, offering a warm and cosy atmosphere. All the cottages are single storey and have easy access from the gardens; they are 'no smoking' and outdoor ashtrays are provided around the site. Dogs are welcome to stay in some of our cottages and composting dog waste bins are provided. Every cottage has an outdoor tap to wash off surfing gear and sandy dogs! A number of cottages also have fire pits provided for when you want to enjoy an evening outside under the Cornish starry sky. The gardens have been extensively replanted to offer more variety, including herbs, salad leaves and fruit bushes around the cottages. Each cottage has modern and traditional garden furniture, including loungers and deckchairs. There is an outdoor washing line on each terrace or in the garden.
All the beds have a choice of hypo allergenic or feather bedding and Ecover cleaning products are supplied in each cottage. Recycling and compost bins are provided in all the cottages and our guests are encouraged to make use of these as part of The Park’s environmental ethos. We have recycling facilities on site and are running a three-yearly composting cycle.
In each property you will find a comprehensive Welcome folder giving you information about the site itself, along with ideas and recommendations of places to visit, good local pubs and restaurants and great days out. Local interest magazines are also provided. All the staff on site are able to offer ‘insider’ knowledge of the best local attractions, beaches and shopping facilities; housekeeping staff are on site every day. Each cottage has comprehensive health and safety information which we recommend reading upon arrival.
Beds are made up on arrival with 100 per cent cotton sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases. There is a range of wooden and metal beds, some of which are zip and link to provide versatile accommodation. One bath and hand towel per person is provided, as are bath mats, so you will just need to pack towels for the beach or swimming pool; these are also available from the shop. For chilly nights, extra blankets are available in each cottage. Some properties have their own washer/dryers; otherwise there is a central laundry room fully equipped with washers, dryers, irons, ironing boards and airers, and all laundry detergents are provided. Each cottage also has tea towels, oven gloves and dish cloths, plus some books and games. More books, games and DVDs are available from Reception.
We have cots and high chairs available on request and we can arrange the delivery of champagne, chocolates, flowers, wine, etc, through our Special Requests service.
